Cow Attack!!

On a recent walk in Barrington, myself and 3 of the dogs were chased by a herd of cows who took great offence at us being in their field.
I did all the wrong things on this occasion and ran screaming from them which just drew more attention to us! The dogs had all scampered back to the car as I dragged myself through the boggy field. It was a very close call. I shall NOT be walking the dogs near any livestock in the near future!!

Should you come across cows on your dog walk, here are the rules to follow.

1. Keep your dog on a close leash under quiet control.
2. Remain calm and walk as far away from the herd as possible to the nearest exit.
3. Should the livestock begin to charge, drop your lead. The dog can easily outrun them and this will draw their attention away from you. Cows can weigh up to and sometimes over a tonne which can be fatal if you're on the end of a full charge.

It is very rare for cows to do this, I was very unlucky apparently. So I don't mean to frighten anyone! But be safe and take care!
