Loony dogs

Last week I took Pippa and Thai for a stroll around the farm field.

The trains did not bother either of them at all.

These were taken when we took a small break from running about like loonies!

His Name Is Rio

Rio has come to stay with us for a little while as his owners have had to take a sudden trip to Switzerland. He is having a lovely holiday with us and really enjoys his long walks and playing fetch. Always ready for cuddles and he just adores lying in the sun as you can see above!

This was a LONG walk.

Archie Comes To Stay

Archie came for a holiday at our house last week. He decided to take on the role of Devoted Dog to Roman, following him everywhere. Hoovering up his stray crumbs and retrieving fallen toys. Placing things gently in his hand (the rest of us are not deigned with this gesture!) and spending hours playing catch and fetch. Even trying to follow him up the slide at the playground.

This proved hard work for Archie! So a lot of time was also spent resting.

This is Archie when he first took on his job as Protector of The Boy. If anyone came remotely near Roman, then Archie was on red alert, barking loudly at intruders (Ash and I) to keep them at bay, resulting in Roman being woken frequently. He was not amused.

As a treat for all his hard work, he was rewarded with the largest ham bone in the Butchers, which would last at least 2 days we were told. They could not believe it when he devoured it in about 4 hours. What fun he had that week!! Roman is missing Archie terribly. No other dog will do as playmate. They are all boring apparently.

The Beeches

Pippa and I recently went for a stroll up at The Beechwoods Nature Reserve near Fulbourn. Here are a few pics from our walk.

Archie's Stick

Max and Lizzie Take A Stroll

Lizzie and I took Max to the Orchard for a lovely walk. He has been having extra training around strangers, this will help him to get better socialised and stop him barking at everyone! He is sometimes quite frightened of situations he doesn't feel comfortable in.

He was very excited at first but soon calmed down when we got going. Once Max stops seeing things as a possible threat and realises strangers are fun new playmates, he'll be a more confident dog on the lead. As Lizzie helped to prove that day!

Sunshine

Recently, Max and I had encountered nothing but rain on our walks, so it was nice to finally get some sunshine. Max is still very young and is learning how to behave properly on and off lead.

He is definitely a happier dog off of the lead, much like most of my canine companions!!

What a lovely day it was!!
